| This streetscape project forms the west edge of the Downtown Manhattan Redevelopment project. The first phase, between Bluemont and Leavenworth, will be constructed in 2007 and was designed to provide a sensitive transition between the new mixed-use higher density zone and the historic single family residential neighborhood to the west. A large roundabout anchors the north end at Bluemont and features a stone masonry gateway sculpture to direct visitors to the Downtown District, Aggieville, Tuttle Creek Boulevard, and the KSU campus. The incorporation of wider sidewalks with decorative pavement, ornamental street lights, planting beds, street trees and interpretive signage are all important components of this revitalization project. BBN is serving as sub-consultant to HWS Engineering for all architectural and landscape architectural services. |
