Project AIB International

AIB International is a 95-year-old technology transfer center for bakers and food processors. Its original mission was to “put science to work for the baker.” That basic theme is still central to all of AIB International’s programs, products, and services. AIB is headquartered in Manhattan, Kansas, home of Kansas State University and a major center for wheat and related grain product research and development.

This comprehensive renovation provides improved teaching facilities, creates modern, flexible laboratory space, and reorganizes staff and administrative areas in a new open office model. In addition, a new stand alone administrative office building was constructed. It features open, flexible workspace and utilizes an under-floor HVAC distribution system to maximize flexibility and user comfort. Its position at a high point on the site provides long views over the city and to the prairie and hills beyond.
