Project Orangutan Exhibit, Kansas City Zoo

The new Orangutan Exhibit at the Kansas City Zoo was designed to highlight three distinct and fascinating orangutan characteristics; their arboreal realm, physical dexterity and cognizance. The exhibit incorporates a large outdoor habitat with expansive shaded glass viewing opportunities from elevated and ground level vantage points, a winding pedestrian hillside pathway replete with playful, interactive educational displays, and a renovated Day Room within the Orangutan Holding Building that adds significant new orangutan amenities and improved visibility into the space from the building exterior.
